Disneyland and Star Wars Galaxies Edge Report!

A couple weeks ago, I had a chance to visit Disneyland for a couple of days. While there, I experienced most of the rides in California Adventure as well as Disneyland and also got to eat a lot of good food. Below is a complete list of all the rides we got a chance to ride as well as the overall experience we had at the park.

Day 1 and First Park: Disney’s California Adventure

We arrived to Disneyland late in the afternoon on a Friday so we decided it would be most beneficial to visit California Adventure as it is a smaller park than Disneyland. While there, we were able to get on most of the major attractions and also had some very unique food. Here is a list of all the rides we got on:

  1. Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout
  2. The Incredicoaster
  3. Luigis Rollickin’ Roadsters
  4. Grizzly River Run

    Guardians of The Galaxy Ride

Overall, all the rides were running very well with reasonable wait times. Although the park seemed very crowded, most of the lines were short. The longest we had to wait was about 45 minutes for Guardians of the Galaxy and The Incredicoaster. My favorite ride in this park was probably Guardians of the Galaxy as it was very intense and hard to predict if you were up or down. The one downfall of the day was that we ended up waiting about an hour and a half for the cars ride only to have it breakdown and close for the rest of the day. But aside from that, overall great day for rides at the park.

Food at California Adventure:

We decided to eat food in Cars land at California Adventure. In Cars land, they have the Cozy Cone Motel set up as different food stands instead of a hotel. At these food stands, they have unique and innovative dishes. Here are a few that we tried:

Pretzel Bites with Cheese

My favorite dish was the Cheeto crusted corn as it was very similar to a Mexican style street corn. I loved the Cheetos as they added a nice heat to the corn. The pretzel bites with cheese were also amazing and a great little snack. Overall, I highly recommend eating at the Cozy Cone Motel area in Cars Land as they have a lot of great food. Also, the area is themed very well and is very similar to Radiator Springs in Cars.
Day 2: Disneyland and Galaxies Edge!

Our 2nd day started early: right at 8:00 when the park opened. We were at the Disneyland park for about 8 hours and were able to get on all of the major attractions with minimal waits. We used fastpass on the more popular rides and the   The longest we waited in a normal line was about 30 minutes. We left around 4:00 and that was a good thing as the park started getting very crowded then. Some of the rides were up to an 120 minute wait! Here is a complete list of all the rides we got on:

  1. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  2. Matterhorn
  3. Splash Mountain- 2 times in a row! was a walk on!
  4. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  5. Space Mountain
  6. Pirates of The Caribbean
  7. Indiana Jones

Star Wars Galaxies Edge:

One of the main reasons we went to Disneyland was to visit the new Star Wars Land. Upon entering the Disneyland park gates at 8:00, we immediately rushed to Star Wars Land. The land itself is in the back end of the park so we had to walk about 15 minutes to get there. Upon arriving to the land, we rushed to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and only had a 15 minute wait. I highly recommend following the same strategy we did as after we got off the ride, the line was out of the queue area and about a 65 minute wait. We were going to ride it again but the wait never got below 80 minutes for the day and they don’t have fastpass. The ride itself was amazing and incredibly themed. Basically, it’s a simulation of a journey on the Millennium Falcon. You and 5 other people get to sit in the ship and control its every move. You have 2 pilots, 2 gunners and 2 engineers. Your goal is to smuggle the loot and get back safely. In the end, you get a score and can brag about it to your friends. Overall, this ride was awesome and really fun. Now here are some pictures of the land itself:

Overall: Wow! This land was super impressive and exceeded all of my expectations! The ride was incredible, the theming was amazing and the blue milk was surprisingly good. This land is 14 acres and they themed it all without taking any shortcuts. Also, all the staff are dressed up and in character which makes the experience even better. I highly recommend visiting this land if you have the chance and I cannot wait for the new ride to open next year.

We ended the day with some amazing pineapple soft serve!

We had a great 2 days at Disneyland and California Adventure! overall, the food was great, the theming was amazing as usual and the rides were running really well! Also, the park overall was not too crowded while we were there except for the night after we left Disneyland. Overall, I had an amazing time and cannot wait until I return to the park again!
